A happy day in the life of a young girl

Barbara, 16, was diagnosed with cancer in September last year. The first visible side-effect of chemotherapy was the loss of her hair. Barbara was devastated: every time she looked into the mirror she saw a bald girl. Being aware of the psychic burden of losing one’s hair, especially in the case of young girls, we have been providing patients registered with the Children Cancer Foundation wigs made of real hair. Barbara’s mother also approached us as the family’s financial condition did not allow the purchase of a wig made of real hair.

Owing to our campaign “A lock from you – a lot for them” a great number of children and adults have offered their locks, making it possible for Barbara to get a new head of hair. She was overjoyed when she finally received her customised wig. Now, that she does not need to wear a kerchief or cap to hide her baldness, she has become much more confident and outgoing.

Thank you everyone for donating your hair!
