We have been supporting the recovery of Michelle for over six years. She was diagnosed for brain tumour when she was 11 years old. Since then she has been through several hospital treatments, and now at the age of 17 she participated at two Onco-Olympic Games, where due to her outstanding swimming performance she hugely contributed to the success of the Hungarian team. The mother of Michelle is bringing her up on her own and this way it is a lot more difficult to ensure an appropriate family background for a child. Our Foundation besides the regular financial support granted to the family offered support on several cases to the mother in order to overcome their difficulties.
Michelle is going along nicely on the path of recovery, but unfortunately due to the side effect of radiotherapy she lost her hair, which until this day has not grown back yet. Her mother asked a wig from the Foundation made of human hair, which could make up for the lost hair crown of Michelle.
Of course we came to their help again and thanks to the huge amounts of donated hair received in the frame of the program entitled “Only a curl for you, but a big treasure for her” launched in cooperation with the Curly Island Children Hairdressing Salon (Tincses Sziget Gyermek Élményfodrászat) we could have a wig made for Michelle according to her request.
