In the past four years, our Foundation purchased medical instruments in a value amounting to HUF 54.5 million for the Bethesda Children’s Hospital.
On 10th July, we handed over the laboratory equipment which fully conforms to the requirements of the 21st century.
One-hundred and twenty-eight thousand children receive medical attendance in this hospital a year, therefore a laboratory instrument which is capable of accurate diagnostics is indispensable. This is extraordinarily important for children with cancer, when early diagnosis can save lives.
On behalf of the hospital, Dr. György Velkey, general director, and on behalf of the Calvinist Church maintaining the institute, the Bishop Dr. Gusztáv Bölcskei, the reverend chair of the Synod of the Hungarian Calvinist Church, expressed their thanks by giving an acknowledging certificate to the Chairman of our Foundation.
At the press conference, István Balogh, the Chairman of our Foundation told that we supported the children with cancer and the hospitals treating them during the 16 years of our functioning in a unique scale with 2 billion 660 million forints, and annually we contributed with 8 million forints to encourage the resident physicians committed towards paediatric oncology to stay and practice their profession in Hungary.
