On the occasion of the Children’s Day our Foundation presented to the children treated in the Heim Pál Children’s Hospital a donation which was worth HUF 497,000. At this event István Balogh, the Chairman of our Foundation, handed over the donation symbolically in the form of a money order to Dr. Anikó Nagy, head physician and general directress. The general directress thanked for the donation on behalf of the children and added that our Foundation had been a prominent supporter of the hospital for years, and in the recent years the assistance having been provided to the hospital for the purpose of improving the instrumentation of the hospital was worth hundreds of forint millions. The donated instruments will make the physicians’ work easier to a great extent, and will facilitate faster and less painful recovery of the children. The celebration was kept on the courtyard of the hospital, and everything was about the children. The hospital was transformed into a large buzzing playground. Famous musicians, singers, artists, clowns amused the sick children and their relatives. The program included a dog show, aircraft modelling, face painting, and owing to the plenty of donations everyone could taste the delicatessen prepared on-site (scones, pretzels, doughnuts). Famous pastry chefs prepared the Children’s Cake of the Country, which was named as “Rainbow Cake”. The cake was special because it was made of gluten-free, lactose-free, sugar-free ingredients and contained no additives, so that every child could taste it. The participants of this event were greeted by Dr. András Huszár, from the Metropolitan Mayor’s Office, the head of the Health and Social-Policy Department, and Dr. Krisztina Török, the general directress of GYEMSZI. The great-grandchild of Heim Pál, after whom the hospital was named, also graced the event with his presence. Not even the now and then little bit unfriendly weather could disturb the celebration. The children and their relatives celebrated enthusiastically, and gladly joined in the program when invited by the artists.
