In the judgement pronounced on 14 March 2014 Budapest-Capital Regional Court obliged the Editorial Office of Hír24.hu to make rectifications in the following items:
In their article: “Children Cancer Foundation holds 850 million HUF”, which was published on 18 December 2013:
• they falsely communicated that in 2012 and 2013 the hospitals belonging to the Paediatric Haematology Network received only 16 million Forints from the Children Cancer Foundation.
In reality, beyond the purchase of technical literature and support for medical scholarship, in 2012 and 2013 the hospitals received 16 million Forints to purchase medical instruments.
• in addition, they falsely claimed that István Balogh, the president of the Children Cancer Foundation would have asserted that he lived not on the salary received from the foundation but on the remuneration he received as the editor of chief with two magazines.
In their article “American Website of Children Cancer Foundation stopped” published on 21 December 2013:
• they incorrectly communicated that the content displayed on the American website of the foundation had been suspended after the Index had written that the Children Cancer Foundation had also established an organization in the United States of America.
In reality, the webpage of Children Cancer Foundation Inc. founded by the Children Cancer Foundation was not available from 20-12-2013, i.e. before the publication of the article of the Index on 20-12-2013, and from 21-12-2013 it became available again with Christmas image.
